Your support and appreciation of my art mean the world to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for visiting my site and for your continued interest in my work.

Welcome 2024

As we bid farewell to the past year and embrace the fresh start of 2024, I wanted to take a moment to wish each and every one of you a year filled with joy, love, and endless possibilities. May this new year bring you happiness, success, and the fulfillment of your dreams.

For me, this year holds exciting intentions and aspirations. One of my main focuses is to continue dreaming and exploring new projects around our beloved hobby farm. Our home has always been a source of inspiration and tranquility for me, and I can’t wait to embark on new adventures and create beautiful memories in the coming months.

Additionally, I am eagerly looking forward to accepting art commissions in 2024. Art has always been my passion, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to bring your visions to life. Whether it’s a portrait or a landscape, or a unique piece of art, I am excited to collaborate with you and create something truly special.

As an educator, I will continue to provide a nurturing and engaging learning environment for my grade 2/3 students. Their curiosity and enthusiasm fuel my own passion for teaching, and I am dedicated to fostering their growth, creativity, and love for learning. Together, we will embark on a journey of discovery, exploration, and personal development throughout the year.

So here’s to a year filled with endless possibilities, new beginnings, and the pursuit of our dreams. May 2024 be a year of growth, inspiration, and success for all of us. Let’s make it a year to remember!

Cheers to a fantastic New Year! ✨

'A Real Stinger'

This painting is inspired by my most favourite hike yet, Flora Peak. The view from the top was stunning!

Not only was it challenging physically but we also had to dodge an angry wasps nest which made for an extra sigh of relief when complete

I call this one ‘A Real Stinger’ Acrylic on canvas, 2 pieces, 20” x 16”.

Jack and Peachy

I was fortunate enough to spend time with these two Mini’s. Especially Jack, who ended up, oddly enough, having a strong bond with our Alpaca Honey. They brought some character to our Farm, the boys and I will always remember. This is a commission piece of the owner of the two little horses.

'Dreaming of Sheep'

At the beginning of this year we decided it would be a good time to get a puppy.. (especially spending so much time at home these days.) We decided an Old English Sheepdog was the perfect fit for us. So in October we welcomed ‘Dallas’ into our family.

‘Dallas’ is almost 5 months old and the bigger he gets, the crazier his hair! ha-ha

We made him a ‘dry off’ spot in the house with a big beg and now.. a SHEEP painting, so he can dream of herding sheep while he snores.

Naramata Bench

Here is a fun commission I’ve been working on this past month. A happy challenge that I much needed to keep my brain busy during this strange time ha-ha.
The photo I was working off was this area in the Winter, I had to use my imagination to envision the scene during a summers day.
I’m really happy with the results and the positive feedback felt great too!

'Chicken Littles'

For those that don’t know, I am a teacher as well as an Artist. Most recently Grade 1/2. These ‘chicks’ are painted for my job share partner. Each year she has a farm unit with her class and they go to watch chicks hatch and see them grow.

It was so special for the kids (some even got to bring chicks home, with parents permission) It has been really great to be a part of the fun for the past years.

'Pail of Plenty'

Looking at the forecast lately has me rather depressed feelin’ as a sun lover. Two positives are the flowers & vegetables are flourishing and I’ve had lots of ‘guilt free’ inside days to paint.

This painting was inspired by our garden this year - Acyrlic on canvas, 20” x 20”

'She Knows The Way'

‘She Knows The Way’ - Acrylic on Canvas, 48” x 60”

This painting was inspired by all the moms out there that have been rocking it during this time (Covid-19) and may not always be feeling like it!
We’ve overnight became 24/7 caregivers, had to let go of projects, adjust our schedules, stay strong for our kids while struggling with the anxiety of not know what is happening day to day in the world, missing our families/friends and trying to homeschool & work at the same time. You may feel weak and tired, I do too! but we are not. Y’all are so strong!

Custom Portraits: Q & A

Q & A : I get so many e-mails asking about what I need from photos to create a custom portrait. For BEST results I work off of a full length photo, where I can see the whole body (head to toe). Coloured and standing poses are preferred. Here is a example of a photo that would be excellent to work off of. It doesn’t have to be perfect, I just need an idea to work off of for positions. THANK YOU !!!

Custom Portraits : Q & A

Q & A : I’ve had many people ask what I need to make a custom portrait. I work off of full length photos. It’s always nice to work off of a group photo but I understand that can be really difficult sometimes!.. so I can also work off of individual photos of the people you’d like in the portrait and draw everyone together, just like I did with these two lovely families here :)

Starfish Clusters

Starfish cluster to check out the health and well-being of one another. All the tentacles under the shell are feeling and tending to smaller ones or each other.
After showing this to my students they made their own starfish cluster as a class and chose a quote that they felt best represented a Starfish cluster.. “We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.. "
