Painter. Illustrator. Photographer. Teacher. Hobby Farmer.
Hello there!
My name is Megan Long, I am an Artist and Fine Arts Teacher, currently nestled in the serene landscapes of Websters Corners, BC, on a delightful hobby farm.
From my early days, Art has been my steadfast companion. Hours spent with an easel and paints in hand fueled my passion, a flame that guided me to Art School. There, I honed my skills and experimented with various mediums, culmination in the achievement of my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of the Fraser Valley.
Post-BFA, my journey led me to Simon Fraser University, where I delved into the world of education, earning a Bachelor of Education. Presently, I find joy teaching grade 2/3 at a lovely school nestled in the woods. Guiding young minds in their artistic exploration is an incredibly rewarding experience.
Acrylic on canvas serves as my primary medium for a significant portion of my paintings. My artistic endeavors traverse natural landscapes, portraits, and pop culture images. More recently I’ve found inspiration from animals and nature, a passion further fueled by my love for hiking and encounters with farm animals.
Infused with positivity, my work reflects the vibrancy of life’s simple pleasures, such as the beauty of Spring Flowers. I express my unique style through vivid colors and intricate details.
Join me on this creative journey as I continue to explore the boundless world of art, drawing inspiration from the lively elements that surround us.
